Book 17 of 2018: Camino Island š“ by John Grisham
Well, well, well… Iāve heard a lot about Mr Grisham and his writing but this is the first book of his Iāve read. I can honestly say I wish I hadnāt had so much work to do this week because I didnāt want to put the book down! Iāve been reading at everyone opportunity.
From the first word I was hooked. There are no wasted words, sentences or, more importantly, dialogue. Everything has its place in this story and it weaves together so smoothly you donāt even notice the transitions.
One thing that threw me was the quote on the cover āthe best thriller writer alive…ā whilst this may be true, this book was not a thriller. It wasnāt even suspenseful. However, it was an un-put-down-able read and I love every word.
Iām using this book for my #popsugarreadingchallenge prompt āa story about a heistā but it could also work for āstory set in a bookshopā or ‘problems society faces’ PLUS thereās tonnes of books mentioned in it… so if you read this, youāll easily be able to chose your next read for ābook mentioned within another bookā.
Join Denny, Mercer, Elaine and Cable on this bizarrely outrageous adventure, full of wine, late nights and lives on the run…
I’m giving it 4/5 stars š and will probably pass it on to a colleague who I think will enjoy it too!
